A third and a fourth generation of seamen are on board of Sailing’s cool! As the story goes, everything started with Dobo’s great-grandfather in 1882. He was one of the first merchant-owners of a cargo ship used for delivery of wood and coal between Black Sea and the North Aegean. His son (Dobo’s grandfather) worked as a custom-coast guard on the south border of the Black Sea, followed by his son (Dobo’s father), who crossed the Oceans and Seas as a professional deck boss (Bosun) with over 1 million nautical miles logged. Dobo grew up on the west coast of the Black Sea, strongly connected to the Sea. He left home port at the age of 18 to discover the world. Now he is in his forties, and has spent the last 20 years in the sailing and yacht industry. He realised that it is not just a passion – it is sea salt running through his veins and the next generation inherited it too …
Sailing’s cool is a family & friends crewed sailing company. Our heading is to enjoy and respect the elements, especially the ones that the sea and the ocean have gifted us. Our goal is to share our sailing experience and heritage with other passionate people in the safest, most suitable, practical and sustainable way.
What makes us different from most of the other nautical companies is the diverse nautical experience we offer, gained during the last 20 years working close for and with the nautical industry (production of carbon parts for the super yachts, yacht survey, refit, yacht charter management, deliveries , RYA trainings and many other professional sailing activities.)
During my experience to become a confident sailor and get the prestigious ‘’RYA Instructor’’ certificate, I have seen plenty of sailing schools, training centres, skippers, national authorities and sailors offering sailing trainings and certificates. All that helped me to shape ‘’Sailing’s Cool ‘’and our training and sailing values.We believe in the passion and love for sailing, in respecting the elements and each personality, all these complemented by high skipper competence, the willingness to learn and evolve are the key to build a solid seamanship and become a confident sailor.
Not working for a specific authority allows us more flexibility by organising sailing events while implementing already acquired high standards such as from RYA trainings.
Sailing’s cool crew completed numerous skipper, sailing and nautical trainings in different seas and oceans by different authorities (Agean Sea,Adriatic Sea,Black Sea,Mediterranean Sea,Caribbean Sea,North Sea,English channel, Gibraltar, Atlantic Ocean). The crews mastered sailing in tidal and non tidal waters and various weather conditions. After 20 years of professional experience and passion for improvement in any aspect of sailing and sailing-equipment, I am determined to share and pass on, all gained experience and lessons learned. It applies even to the most skilled and experienced sailor – I believe that there is always room for improvement and we keep learning all the time….
Profit is not our first priority, but is necessary to keep on course… The prices for trainings are carefully calculated to cover cost for proper equipment suitable for the training and qualified Skipper-instructor.
The prices for any leisure sailing activities are aligned with the world charter market. /We believe they should be fair./
Based on your goal, we will determine together which course suits you best. Even if we do not offer what you are looking for, we are happy to help you and recommend you to a well suited training center sharing our passion for sailing and constant improvement. We will be more than glad to help you achieve what you love and aim for in the sailing world.

Dobo is the founder of SAILING’S COOL. My priority is to let everyone have a pleasant and useful time on board in a safe environment. Seeing people evolving their sailing skills, and enjoying sailing, makes me really happy and motivates me to do what I´m doing…

Lia, 18 years of age, is the youngest instructor of Sailing’s cool and main organiser of the YOUNG SKIPPER week. Started sailing at the age of seven on RS and Opti in Holland. She love sailing and skippering a Yacht in moderate condition.Her favourite exercise -MOB by wind -Force 6 .

If You Cruise You Can’t Lose
Max is born in 2013, the youngest crew member!
Since 2014 always involved, wether asked or unasked to any sailing activity .Max is still motivated to go sailing, and doesn’t hesitate to manoeuvre a 40ft yacht by wind Force 5 in confined space.
